Why Junk Doctors

Why Customers Choose Us

1

Permits Are Required

Demolishing a mobile or manufactured home in North Carolina requires a demolition permit from your county or city. The permit process also typically requires confirmation that utilities have been disconnected. We do not pull permits — that's the property owner's responsibility before we schedule.

2

Utilities Must Be Off and Disconnected

Electrical, gas, water, and sewer must be disconnected and confirmed dead before demolition starts. Contact your utility providers and get written confirmation. We require this before scheduling.

3

Older Homes May Contain Asbestos

Mobile homes built before 1980 commonly contain asbestos in insulation, floor tile, ceiling tiles, and wall panels. Testing and abatement by a licensed contractor must happen before we can proceed. We handle non-hazardous demolition and debris removal only.

4

Site Clearing Included

After the structure is down and debris is loaded, we sweep the site. Accumulated yard junk, old appliances, and property debris can be added to the same job — it's more efficient to clear everything at once.

FAQ

Questions Answered.

Yes. A demolition permit is required in virtually all North Carolina jurisdictions. The application typically requires proof that utilities have been disconnected and in some counties requires a signed confirmation from the health department regarding septic or sewer. Pull the permit before you call us to schedule.
Yes. All personal belongings, furniture, and salvageable items should be removed before demo begins. If contents need to be cleared first, we can do that as a separate job before the demolition date.
Manufactured homes built before 1980 commonly contain asbestos insulation, floor tile, and wall materials. These require testing and abatement by a licensed contractor before demolition. We do not demolish structures with known or suspected asbestos in place.
Concrete piers and slabs are an optional add-on — we price it separately from the structure demolition. Some property owners keep the slab for future use. Tell us your preference when you call.
Yes. Old appliances, shed structures, accumulated yard debris, and general property junk can all be added to the same visit. Clearing everything at once is more efficient and usually better pricing than separate trips.
A single-wide typically takes one full day with an appropriate crew. Double-wides may require a second day depending on size and site conditions. We'll give you an honest timeline when you describe the property.
